storm's a-brewing

It's taken me the better part of a week for my knee to feel back to normal after a day of parkour. So much for resting the month to let it heal. We were shooting a music video (so much for not participating in the spectacle-izing of parkour) so it was a lot more activity and a lot more impact-involved activity than I would normally do in a contained training session, but certainly not more than a weekend ultimate tournament back in the day. But of course it's not back in the day anymore, I'm about ten years out from when I was regularly active at a competitive level and I'm thinking about buying a knee brace not just for parkour training days, but for work days when I think I might be doing a lot of lifting, kneeling, climbing, etc. Everything still feels better on the bike, but this may be the first time that it doesn't all feel good. Hard to get a good jump on the left pedal stomp. Not to be unappreciative, though, I realize there will be a time in the future when I won't be able to do parkour even to the just-staying-fit level I'm at now and will be happy to get a few hours in on the bike without my back freezing up or something. No, it will always feel better than that on the bike.
