It's almost Spring and, aside from watching the green grass of the Bay Area transform into golden fire hazard, it means film festival time. SFIAAFF seems like a lovely memory and I'm looking forward to the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Including the Bulldozer video (left in the dust for the popular vote but won the judges decision for SFIAAFF!), two short films I worked on will be screening at the festival. The first, Victor Yang (dir. Chris Hollstein), is part of the In the Valley of Love and Betrayal program playing the first Saturday, May 1st, at 10pm at the Director's Guild of America; the second, Richard Wong's Wu Is Dead, together with its companion piece, Empire Corner (dir. J.P.Chan), is playing the following night in the same venue in the Long Distance Short program. In both VY and WID, I was gaffer and appear on screen doing the talkytalkywalkywalk thing. Bulldozer will be playing with a number of other music videos in the Cinema Musica! program at the Downtown Independent on May 4th, a Tuesday, at 9:15pm. Hope to see some familiar faces out there (maybe ones who have couch space?).
Bulldozer will also be screening at the Asian American Showcase in Chicago on April 7th.
